Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) president Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman has reminded Muslims to be aware of the threats against them and that the nation is heading towards racial conflict.
Defending Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin ( right ), he said: "There is strong evidence where certain quarters are imposing their will on Malay Muslims and denying their rights as enshrined in the constitution."
Abdullah said there was nothing controversial about Muhyiddin's statement regarding the possibility of another racial riot taking place.
The Isma president criticised DAP for attempting to paint Muhyiddin as a fanatic, extremist and someone who is anti non-Malays.
"On the contrary, it is DAP that is extreme, goes overboard and forgets its place," Abdullah said, adding that there is strong evidence to back the deputy prime minister’s statement.
Muhyiddin had called on Muslims to unite, stating that several quarters have questioned the position of Islam and the implementation of syariah laws.
Abdullah also warned about the existence of a plan to cause the Malays to be marginalised in their own land.
He claimed that DAP went on the offensive against Muhyiddin in order to push for the the DPM and several other Umno leaders ousted from the cabinet.
"These attacks on Muhyiddin are part of the pressure towards that aim (to have him removed from the cabinet).
"DAP and Chinese parties hide behind their multiracial slogan to impose their will and deny the rights of the Malays and Islam," Abdullah added.
