The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission today confirmed that it is investigating claims of alleged misconduct by Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

MACC chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed was quoted in Astro Awani as saying the matter is being handled by his deputy (operations), Mohd Shukri Abdull ( right ).

“My job is to investigate all cases. We will look into any complaint we receive. If it involves corruption, we will investigate,” he said in a press conference.

Khalid's political secretary had recently submitted a report to the MACC last week to investigate the Selangor MB for alleged misconduct as claimed by PKR.

A dossier of six alleged instances of misconduct by Khalid as MB, was released by PKR to Pakatan component parties last week, and Khalid's camp proceeded to hand over the dossier to MACC themselves, for the commission to investigate.

Khalid is currently an independent MB after being expelled by PKR last Saturday due to his refusal to resign, and be replaced by Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

However yesterday, he obtained the consent of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to continue as MB after informing the ruler that he has the support of the majority in the state assembly.
