Two PKR parliamentarians will add to the list of elected representatives to be charged this month, this time with sedition and "insult with intent to provoke breach of peace".

Padang Serai MP N Surendran will be charged under the Sedition Act while Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli will face the latter charge under Section 504 of the Penal Code.

This Surendran's second sedition charge in just over a week.

It will bring the tally of elected representatives charged this month alone to seven.

Last week he was charged for a statement made in reference to PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy II case.

The charge tomorrow will also be on a statement he made on the case, but this time, based on a video uploaded onto Youtube.

Surendran is part of Anwar's legal team for the case.

Meanwhile, Rafizi who is now PKR vice-president allegedly made the statement which "insults with the intent to provoke breach of peace" in an article published by The Edge and fz.com in February.

This statement is alleged to have potential to cause "racial tensions" in Selangor.

Both MPs gave their statements to police in Kajang and Pudu respectively earlier today.

On Aug 19, Surendran was with sedition for a press statement he made in April this year following the written judgment on Anwar's conviction by the Court of Appeal on the same charge.

Earlier today, DAP's Seri Delima assemblyperson RSN Rayer was charged with two counts of sedition in a sessions court in Penang for uttering the word 'celaka' at three Umno leaders.

Yesterday PAS's Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad claimed trial for sedition for asking for the Selangor Islamic Affairs Council's powers to be reduced .

On Monday, PAS's Changkat Jering assemblyperson Nizar Jamaluddin was charged with criminal defamation of prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
