COMMENT The question posed by the Selangor constitutional crisis to all Malaysians is not about who is the best candidate for Selangor, or even whether a woman can be a head of government, but this: should the head of state be given the power to pick the head of government?

Specifically, should the Yang di-Pertuan Agong be given the power to choose the next prime minister of Malaysia after the 14th general election (GE14)?
