Stop 'fishing' our reps to sign SDs, warns Selangor PAS
Selangor PAS secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman says there still are attempts to “fish” for PAS’ Selangor state representatives to sign statutory declarations (SDs) in support of Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Selangor menteri besar.
Selangor PAS says there still are attempts to "fish" for its representatives to sign statutory declarations (SDs) in support of Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Selangor menteri besar.
However, in his statement issued late yesterday, the party's state secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman ( right ) did not name the party attempting to entice PAS representatives in the state.
"We know there are efforts to 'fish' for our assemblypersons in Selangor.
"We have full information and we will reveal the name of the lobbyists if this game is not stopped," he said.
Two PAS assemblypersons have already signed statutory declarations supporting Wan Azizah, effectively breaking ranks with their party stand.
Khairuddin made his comments following the Selangor Ulama wing’s decision to censure the two assemblypersons who had supported Wan Azizah.
Initially, Khairuddin did not state specifically how the PAS representatives were being enticed.
But after journalists sought an explanation in a chat group, he admitted that there were efforts to have more PAS representatives sign the statutory declaration.
PAS has said it will not sign the SDs supporting Wan Azizah and will leave the decision to the sultan of Selangor.
