Youth group Lensa Anak Muda Malaysia (Lensa) has called on PAS to rein in the troublemakers in the party or quit Pakatan Rakyat.

"If PAS leaders fail to control certain 'rogues' within the party who continue to cause conflict, then it should just leave Pakatan," said Lensa coordinator Ekhsan Bukharee.

He accused PAS of being the main factor in causing the Selangor menteri besar crisis to drag on for almost five months.

Ekhsan was speaking to reporters outside the PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur after submitting a memorandum to PAS central information officer Mohamad Sharir Abu Hassan.

"This conflict could have been solved earlier if PAS, in the spirit of camaraderie, supported the DAP and PKR choice of the menteri besar candidate," he added.

The conflict, Ekhsan said, became worse when PAS leaders themselves began openly criticising the candidate chosen by Pakatan.

"Just like PAS parliamentarian Nasrudin Hassan, who issued a statement claiming that Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim is practising nepotism his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail picked as the candidate for menteri besar," he pointed out.

Lensa's media communications officer Syukri Razab, said if the internal conflict currently wrecking havoc within Pakatan is not sorted out soon, the people will lose their trust in the coalition.

"The people will lose trust, especially in PAS, since the public perception of the party has deteriorated since the Selangor crisis.

"When PAS held a central executive committee (CEC) meeting on Aug 17, it agreed to name Wan Azizah as MB candidate, yet shortly after the meeting, it pulled out and made several 'U-turns' on the decision,” Syukri ( left ) said.

He added that all these matters needed to end within PAS.

"We urge PAS to conduct an internal investigation and take firm action against those who issue statements that threaten the integrity of the coalition.

"This will prove PAS's transparency towards Pakatan, which will in turn win back the people's trust," Syukri added.
