Four Pakatan Rakyat state assemblypersons have denied withdrawing their support for PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to be Selangor menteri besar.

Suspended PKR member Badrul Hisham Shaharin made this claim at a press conference today, and showed the journalists present copies of letters purportedly from the representatives saying they will withdraw support.

"This is a false allegation. It is slanderous and completely baseless," Sri Muda representative Shuhaimi Shafiei ( right ) told Malaysiakini .

Shuhaimi said he never inked any document withdrawing support for the party president.

Claiming that he had seen the document before, he said the signature was not his.

“I don’t even know whose signature it is on the letter. I would know if it is my own signature,” Shuhaimi said.

Asking irresponsible quarters to stop such “cheap politicking”, he said they should stop making baseless accusations as the rakyat now hopes for the best from the government.

“Furthermore, party elections have concluded,” Shuhaimi said.

'It never happened'

Meanwhile, DAP Kinrara assemblyperson Ng Sze Han also described the matter as fraudulent.

"This is a lie. It has never happened. I have seen this letter (of withdrawing support) and denied it previously," he said.

“I also wonder why they suddenly came out with this again,” Ng said.

Ng also denied that he was accusing Badrul Hisham, a former PKR central committee member who is better known as Chegubard, of forging the letter.

“I am not saying he had forged the letter,” he said.

Similarly, Bukit Gasing assemblyperson Rajiv Rishyakaran ( left ) also dismissed the allegation and revealed that a police report has been lodged.

"He (Badrul Hisham) should not be so reckless. He should have first verified the matter," Rajiv said.

Seri Andalas representative Dr Xavier Jayakumar, likewise, said that there was no truth to the claim.

"I made a police report on Sept 7 on this," Xavier said, adding that he had asked his lawyers to look into the matter.

He said that Badrul Hisham was making “malicious allegations”.

“He just wants to stir trouble,” Xavier added.

Malaysiakini is withholding the names of the remaining representative, pending his response.
