The police will record Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Ismail Sabri's statement today in connection with the latter's urging that the Malays boycott Chinese traders.

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said Ismail is being investigated under Section 505 of the Penal Code for uttering statements conducive to public mischief.

"We will meet him this evening to record his statement.

"We are just fixing the time because today is also the cabinet meeting," he told reporters.

Police will also call in others from MCA, Gerakan and DAP who issued statements to criticise Ismail Sabri to give their statements.

“I urge all to stop openly discussing the matter and prolonging it. It is not good because many quarters will take advantage to worsen interracial ties,” he said.

French gunmen wasn't in M'sia, IGP insists

On a separate matter, the IGP again denied media reports that the man who was shot dead after taking several people hostage in a kosher deli in Paris last month had holidayed in Malaysia.

He said police investigations show that Amedy Coulibaly and his wife Hayat Bourmeddine has never been in the Malaysia.

“You can doctor phots but our checks of records show that he never entered Malaysia. People are just playing up the issue.

“Why is it an issue for someone to have been in Malaysia and not if he had entered Singapore or Thailand? Why is that not an issue?” he asked.

The Washington Post published pictures of Coulibaly, 32, posing in front of the Petronas Twin Towers, Masjid Negara and several other mosques believed to be in Terengganu.
