Slapped with a three-day remand for a tweet calling judges "lackeys in black robes" has not drained political cartoonist Zunar's creative juices.

In a cartoon message to Malaysiakini passed through his wife today, the cartoonist told supporters that he is fine.

"I am okay," read the message.

The blue ballpoint pen sketch shows a self-portrait caricature of a smiling Zunar behind bars at the Dang Wangi police station.

"Pray for me!" added Zunar, whose real name is Zulkiflee SM Anwar Ulhaque.

The internationally-recognised artist is the first to be arrested and remanded in relation to the Anwar Ibrahim sodomy guilty verdict yesterday.

He is remanded until Feb 14, over an allegedly seditious tweet calling judges "lackeys in robes".

The cartoonist told Malaysiakini yesterday that his tweet is a "general statement" and that most Malaysians doubt the integrity of the police and judicial institutions.

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar also instructed police to investigate PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli and Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming for their respective tweets on the verdict.

In a related matter, PKR's Simpang Pulai assemblyperson Tan Kar Hing was arrested while gathering with Anwar supporters at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya yesterday and detained for five hours.

Tan lodged a police report against his detention today.

Anwar was sentenced to five years' jail for sodomising his aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, a charge which he claims is politically motivated.
