Another two activists have been arrested for participating in pro-Anwar Ibrahim rallies, this time over a small rally today in front of the Sogo shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur.

Kita Lawan secretariat member Mandeep Singh and activist Adam Adli were detained this afternoon after the rally, PKR Teja assemblyperson Chang Lih Kang told Malaysiakini .

"Less than 100 people attended the protest today. It was a sit-in protest in front of Sogo's main entrance.

"It was peaceful. We were sitting and holding placards and we dismissed after 15 minutes of speech," Chang said.

After the rally dispersed, he said, some participants stayed back to chit chat and a group of plainclothes police officers came forward and arrested Adam and Mandeep ( right ).

Chang said they were told the duo were being sent to Dang Wangi station, where DAP's Rasah MP Teo Kok Seong was arrested this morning.

Upon arrival, there, Chang and his team were however told, later, that Adam and Mandeep have been sent to Jinjang police station, north of the city.

"We strongly condemn the arrests. This is unacceptable and unprofessional.

"It was a peaceful rally and we had announced the end of the rally. Yet they came to arrest us," he said.

Chang said they would be gathering at the Jinjang police station tonight, where he believes Teo is also being held, and they plan to hold a candlelight vigil outside the station.

According to Bernama , Kuala Lumpur police chief Tajuddin Md Isa confirmed the duo were detained under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and under Section 143 of the Penal Code at about 6 pm.

Adam and Mandeep join six opposition leaders - five PKR and one DAP - who have been arrested this week since the massive Kita Lawan rally calling for the freeing of jailed Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim last Saturday.
