Speculation is rife as to why a Kyrgystan national was on board the helicopter which crashed in Semenyih on Saturday, killing six people.

Aidana Baizieva, was one of the passengers on board the ill-fated aircraft, but unlike the others, who she actually is remains a mystery.

Her remains were identified today by a woman, believed to be her relative, who refused to speak to the media.

An unnamed official from the Kyrgystan embassy meanwhile confirmed Aidana’s citizenship, adding that she had been in Malaysia for a year.

“Records show that she has been living in Malaysia for at least a year,” the official told mStar .

The official is also quoted by The Malaysian Insider as saying that Aidana was not married.

Aidana was identified by the Transport Ministry on Saturday night as the helicopter’s operations assistant.

Speculation that she was the co-pilot was denied by the Department of Civil Aviation director-general Azharuddin Abdul Rahman yesterday.

Claims that a tudung-clad woman, photographed with the copter’s pilot Clifford William Fournier, was Aidana, have also been debunked.

Aidana and Fournier were among six people killed in an air mishap on Saturday.

The other passengers were Rompin MP Jamaluddin Jarjis, the prime minister’s private secretary Azlin Alias, businessman Tan Huat Seang and Jamaluddin’s bodyguard, Razakan Seran.

They group had earlier attended the wedding of Premier Najib Abdul Razak’s daughter in Pekan, Pahang.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
