Following the government's instructions to bar certain parliamentarians from leaving the country, DAP will lodge a report against various government agencies on their conspiracy to topple the opposition.

"I am going to lodge police reports against the Home Ministry, Immigration Department, and the police for abuse of power and conspiracy to topple the opposition," DAP’s Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng told a press conference today.

This is because, he said, the government is taking the statement from bankrupt ex-journalist Lester Melanyi seriously, and followed up with action to bar Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua from leaving the country.

"I will also lodge a police report against Lester," Lim ( photo ) said, adding that Pua will not get any compensation even if he wins in his plan to sue Lester for defamation.

Meanwhile, DAP legal bureau secretary Gobind Singh Deo warned Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar not to play games with the opposition.

Gobind was referring to Khalid’s statement that police have identified the opposition figure who met with Swiss national Xavier Justo.

"Stop playing games. You said earlier there was an opposition MP who has been identified. And you said there's a possibility that the police may question him.

"Now, tell us, who is that MP? Is he Tony Pua or PKR’s Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli?

"I also want to ask the IGP where he get this information (from) and where is the evidence, given the fact that police have yet to question Justo," Gobind said.

'Serious accusation'

"The police have made a serious accusation about a conspiracy to topple the government and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"So, why has there been no follow-up action one week after Khalid's statement about this?

"Our position is very clear. We the opposition have nothing to hide. Tell me if you want to question Pua or any of the MPs. I will bring them to your office if you cannot come here," Gobind added.

"We are prepared to give you whatever statement and cooperation you want. As far as we are concerned, we are prepared to face you.

"So, there's no need for you to go around using this tactic to stop our MPs from leaving the country," he concluded.

Last Thursday, Thailand police said Justo ( photo ) had met with a member of the Malaysian opposition and a Malaysian media tycoon before allegedly selling PetroSaudi company information to them.

Khalid had later claimed the police had identified the opposition leader and will call in the person.

BN leaders have been pointing fingers at Pua, following claims by the Thai police that Justo, an ex-director of PetroSaudi International, had met opposition figures, a person from Umno, and a media tycoon in Singapore.

The accusations against Pua intensified after Lester, a former journalist who claimed to have worked with Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown, alleged she tampered with documents to smear 1MDB and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
