Jamidan appointed MACC deputy chief commissioner

Mohamad Jamidan Abdullah has been appointed as the new deputy chief commissioner (management and professionalism) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), effective Aug 1.

The MACC said in a statement in Putrajaya today that Mohamad Jamidan, 57, replaced Zakaria Jaffar, 58, who officially retires on Oct 12.

Mohamad Jamidan who was previously the MACC director of investigations, had been a civil servant for 32 years.

Meanwhile, Mohd Azam Baki, 52, will assume the post of investigations director, also effective Aug 1. He was previously the MACC director of intelligence.

“The MACC records its gratitude and appreciation to Zakaria for his contributions throughout his service for more than three decades,” the MACC said.
