As the dragnet widens, a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy director will be called in today by the police while two of its investigating officers (IOs) in charge of the graft-buster's probe into SRC International Sdn Bhd were summoned yesterday.

This follows the police probe under Section 124B of the Penal Code which deals with activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy.

MACC deputy director (special operations) Tan Kang Sai is expected to be present at the Putrajaya police station in the afternoon for questioning.

Two other officers believed to be IOs also attached to the special operations division were called in yesterday afternoon and evening.

Tan's inclusion makes it seven the number of MACC officers called up in the ongoing probe on alleged leak of 1MDB investigations.

Tan was among those named by certain blogs as being involved in a conspiracy against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Also on the list are MACC number Mohd Shukri Abdull, Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, an official from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC), The Edge Media Group owner Tong Kooi Ong, DAP lawmaker Tony Pua and several others.

Previously, the police detained former MACC adviser Rashpal Singh, AGC officer Jessica Gurmet Kaur and MACC deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Sazalee Ahmad Khairy.

The three were later released.

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar has also not ruled out questioning Zeti and MACC’s Mohd Shukri.

Three questioned

Three others who have been questioned to date include MACC special operations director Bahri Mohamad Zin, forensics director IG Chandran and MACC's Special Operations Department officer Roslan Che Amat.

Roslan is said to be the number three in MACC's special operations division.

The probe on the MACC comes while the graftbusters body's top two officers namely its chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamad and its deputy chief commissioner, Mohd Shukri Abdull are reportedly on leave .

In the case of Shukri, it is understood that he was forced to take leave as he was helping to oversee the investigations on SRC International's RM4 billion in its accounts belonging to the Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP).

The probe is part of a larger task force that includes the police and Bank Negara officials, investigating 1MDB and allegations that a total of US$700 million or RM2.6 billion had entered Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank accounts.
