Anina Saadudin, who filed a legal suit against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak over the RM2.6 billion donation issue, has lost her Umno membership.

Umno executive secretary Abdul Rauf Yusoh confirmed with Malaysiakini that she has been 'automatic revocation' effective today.

He said this is because Anina took party matters to court, which under the Umno constitution, is an offence that can warrant termination.

Anina had filed the lawsuit with the Kuala Lumpur High Court last week.

A letter signed by party secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor informing Anina of her "expulsion" was allegedly sent to her.

However, surprisingly, the letter was dated Sept 2 and not today.

Contacted later, Tengku Adnan confirmed the letter.

The former Wanita Umno delegate became famous after a video of her speech at the Langkawi Umno division meet went viral.

She had accused Najib, who is also Umno president, of 'cheating' three million members.

Earlier, Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said she would make a motion at its exco meeting for disciplinary action against Anina.

“We will table a motion as in the party, there must be discipline and one of the party ethics is to respect the president. If we allow such leeway, then negative things will happen," she said at a press conference at the Putra World Trade Centre after chairing the BN Wanita meeting this afternoon.

Shahrizat also reminded that action would not only be taken against Anina but anyone who violated the party rules.

Anina had last month during the Umno Langkawi delegates meeting said Najib had lied to Umno members with regards to the donation of RM2.6 billion that entered in his personal accounts.

Dejected with Mahathir's presence at Bersih

Shahrizat also expressed the movement's dejection over Dr Mahathir Mohamad's presence during the Bersih 4 rally over the weekend.

She said the majority of Malaysians are not influenced by the former premier as they still support Najib.

“Wanita Umno asked me to issue a statement that we are saddened and dejected with Mahathir's presence at the illegal rally called Bersih.

"From feedback we received from the movement, the majority of Malaysians still support Najib as prime minister,” said Shahrizat ( photo ).

She was commenting on Mahathir's presence twice at the Bersih 4 rally where he was present with his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

The 34-hour rally over the weekend drew tens, if not hundreds of thousands of yellow-clad protestors to the streets of Kuala Lumpur, and smaller Bersih rallies were also held in many other cities around the world.
