Azmin: PKR to strengthen ties between PAS and Harapan
PKR will continue to strengthen ties with its former Pakatan Rakyat ally PAS and the new opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan.
Party deputy president Azmin Ali told reporters this when asked about PAS expressing regret that PKR had attended Harapan partner Parti Amanah Negara’s (Amanah) event.
“We respect and recognise progressive political parties and hold a reform agenda.
“(Therefore) relations between PAS and Pakatan Harapan will be further strengthened,” said the Selangor menteri besar after the state’s monthly staff meeting in Shah Alam this morning.

“(Therefore) relations with PAS within Pakatan Harapan will be further strengthened,” said the Selangor menteri besar after the state’s monthly staff meeting in Shah Alam this morning.
Yesterday, PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli told Malaysiakini he has received a letter from Kelantan PAS expressing the party's unhappiness with PKR for sending its leaders to a recent Amanah event in Kelantan.
Harapan, comprising PKR, Amanah and DAP, formalised the coalition earlier this month at its leadership summit in Shah Alam.
However, PKR has continued to maintain cooperation with PAS, which officially broke ties with DAP last year and has also been openly attacking its splinter Amanah.
The acrimony between PAS and DAP as well as the Islamic party's breakaway progressive leaders eventually led to the demise of the Pakatan coalition last year.
