Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua is disappointed with friends, who fail to live up to expectations.

"Sometimes, you wonder what type of friends you have. When they are in a crisis, you backed them to the hilt, come what may.

"Then at a time when we would appreciate their support, they leak everything to the media first leaving you completely naked.

"Or announce to the whole world openly before they bother talking to us," he said in a Facebook post this afternoon.

Some have speculated that the Petaling Jaya Utara MP was referring to PKR’s stand on holding a snap polls in Penang and how DAP had backed PKR during the menteri besar crisis in Selangor in 2014.

However, Pua chose to keep his cards close to his chest.

"No comment," he replied in a text message to Malaysiakini when quizzed on his cryptic posting.

Pressed further on whether he was referring to the snap polls and PKR’s stand on the matter, Pua responded with a "rolling eyes" emoji.

Yesterday, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the party remained unconvinced on the need to hold a snap election in Penang.

She said this following a PKR meeting, which also took into account the views of the civil society.

DAP is keen on holding the snap polls to serve as a referendum on its secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng with regard to his corruption charges.

The party claims that Lim is a victim of political victimisation which the authorities have denied.

Amanah, which is also a Pakatan Harapan partner, is supporting DAP's proposal to hold snap polls.

DAP has 18 seats, whereas PKR 10 and PAS one in the state.

Some observers have claimed that PKR ran the risk of losing in Malay-majority constituencies should snap polls be called.

Earlier today, Lim said DAP was willing to give PKR a "reasonable time" to decide, but noted that the decision could not be dragged.
