Kepayan state assemblyperson Dr Edwin Bosi has denied that he will leave the DAP to join another party.

“It’s just a rumour,” he said in a text message to Malaysiakini.

Bosi was responding to rumours claiming that he was leaving the DAP for either the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko) or the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).

Earlier today, Sabah DAP publicity chief Phoong Jin Zhe admitted that such a rumour was indeed circulating.

“There are rumours, of course, I cannot deny that,” he said.

Phoong however said that they have yet to confirm the matter as no confirmation was given by Bosi himself.

“We (also) have to confirm with our headquarters and the top leadership,” he added.

Bosi, a first-term state assemblyperson, won the Kepayan state seat in the last general election with a vote-majority of 7,287.

He was also previously the party’s state secretary before he was defeated in the party's state level elections last year.
