All 12 of the Selangor local councils have filed objections against the redelineation exercise in their respective areas, as proposed by the Election Commission (EC).

Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) councillor Derek Fernandez also claimed that none of the local councils were consulted before the EC published their proposals.

"It is impossible for the EC to have been able to carry out a proper review after eight years when it does not even consult the affected local councils and state governments affected."
