PARLIAMENT A visibly upset Parliament Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia warned the opposition not to play games with him today.

This was over their walkout last Friday while Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was tabling Budget 2017.

Pandikar said he had known beforehand that they were planning the stunt.

“When you all walk out, it is as though I kicked out all of you, but it had already been planned,” Pandikar told the House today.

“Come on, don't play games with me. You people play games between you politicians but don't play games with me,” he added.

However, Lim Guan Eng (DAP-Bagan) explained that they were showing their discontent with Najib, not with Pandikar.

Pandikar said he tries his utmost best to be fair to parliamentarians from both sides of the divide, and that politicking between the government and opposition in the House upset him.

"I have feelings, I am only human. If we want a robust Parliament, don't create tension," he said.

Pandikar also said that he knew some of the opposition MPs only walked out last Friday to toe the party line.

The opposition left the Dewan Rakyat on Friday when Najib started taking shots at them.

Najib was poking fun at former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's remarks that the Budget 2017 was without substance.
