State Islamic affairs departments from Negri Sembilan and Selangor are investigating a pork burger chain, over its product which the agencies said is "confusing to Muslims".

The burger chain caught flak over a pork burger which it named 'P Ramly', purported as a homage to the Ramly burger.

The Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) and the Negri Sembilan Islamic Affairs Department (JHEAINS) will send their completed investigation papers to the Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumer Affairs Ministry for action, Berita Harian reported.

The agencies cite the Trade Description Act 2011, which outlaws the use of false or misleading statements as to services or products.
