Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has been accused of being a "master of the art of misdirection" in a cartoon published by Myanmar independent news website The Irrawaddy.

The cartoon by Kyaw Thu Yein depicts a songkok-wearing Najib walking a tight rope and juggling balls which spell "Stop Genocide" while carrying a bag labelled "corruption".

The cartoon uploaded on the Irrawaddy's English Edition Facebook account tonight is titled "Najib Razak's Stunt".

This comes after Najib and several Umno leaders joined PAS at a rally in Kuala Lumpur for the Rohingya community yesterday.

The rally was to protest the alleged mass killings of Rohingya minority in the Rakhine state of Myanmar.

It is claimed that the military had a hand in the massacre, but the Myanmar government denies this and blames local militants.

Yangon said it will also send an official complaint to Putrajaya over Sunday's rally.

The rally also prompted a protest against Najib in Yangon.

Former premier and ardent Najib critic Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Sunday's rally was a sham because as prime minister, Najib was in a position to act instead of joining a protest.

Najib has been battling accusations of corruption after RM2.6 billion was found in his bank account.

However, the attorney-general in January said the funds were donated by the Saudi royal family.

Critics claim the funds came from state sovereign fund 1MDB, but Najib had consistently denied abusing public funds for private use.
