A police report has been lodged against Umno information chief Annuar Musa for allegedly abusing his power by channeling Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) funds into the Kelantan Football Association (Kafa)

The report was lodged by the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth wing at the Shah Alam district police headquarters, who claimed that there was a conflict of interest in Annuar's actions.

"Saving a football club is not wrong, but don't jeapardise the education of students, especially Malay students to cover up for mismanagement when Annuar was in charge of Kafa," Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman said.

Annuar had resigned as Kafa chairperson last November but was still assisting the club.

Syed Saddiq was acting on information from Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim who claimed that the Mara chairperson used his positions in the federal agency and UniKL to channel funds for Kafa.

Tunku Ismail also provided letters and receipts with regard to his allegation.

Annuar, however, had denied such allegations saying not a single sen of Mara funds had gone to the football club.

He also explained that UniKL was a private company, and never sponsored or gave scholarships to its students, so the matter of using scholarship funds to sponsor Kafa never arose.

Syed Saddiq had dared the Ketereh MP to lodge a police report against the Johor crown prince if his allegations were false.
