Johor Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin has denied being one of the dubious voters as alleged by the state Pakatan Harapan.

Confirming claims he had his voting registration changed to the Pasir Gudang Umno division headquarters, he defended the move as legitimate.

"There is nothing wrong with registering as a voter using your office (Pasir Gudang Umno division) address.

"That address is (also) my service centre (for the Permas) state constituency, " he told Malaysiakini in a text message.

Khaled had his MyKad address changed to the division address in Taman Rinting last year after the office was completed.

"(Therefore) I am not a dubious voter," he said.

Johor Pakatan Harapan had alleged that Khaled had his voter registration shifted to the Pasir Gudang Umno division at Taman Rinting together with his son Akmal Saufi and 12 others, according to the electoral roll for the third quarter 2016.

The opposition submitted hundreds of suspicious voter details, including its complaint on Khaled to the Johor Election Commission (EC) yesterday.

DAP Mengkibol state assemblyperson Tan Hong Pin also noted that dubious voters had appeared in four parliamentary constituencies - Gelang Patah, Kluang, Segamat and Pasir Gudang.

Elaborating, Khaled, who is Johor Umno liaison chief and Johor BN chief, said the state Umno has nothing to do with the shifting of voters in these constituencies.

"They can make all sort of accusations. Of course that is not true," he said.

Asked on the reason behind the mass shifting of voters, he said, "You have to ask them, I only answer for my shift, that is my new office and Pasir Gudang Umno division."

Malaysiakini has called and messaged EC chairperson Mohd Hashim Abdullah and is awaiting his response.
