The Johor executive council (exco) line-up has been reshuffled following an anti-corruption sweep which involved the son and a special officer of an exco member.

Jais Sarday has been appointed the exco in charge of housing and local government effective March 12, after the incumbent Abd Latif Bandi took leave over the corruption scandal.

"The reshuffle is until the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) completes its investigation into the case involving the Abd Latif's family member and a special officer," Johor Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin said in a statement.

Abd Latif will resume duty after the investigation on an alleged racket to collect kickbacks for changing the status of properties earmarked for sale to bumiputera buyers only, he said.
