DAP had never once managed to defeat BN during a general election and therefore Lim Kit Siang was not qualified to teach anyone on "strategy", said BN strategic communications chief Abdul Rahman Dahlan.

Reiterating his call for Lim, the DAP parliamentary leader, to retire from politics, Rahman said it was normal for political leaders to do so upon tasting their first defeat.

He said Lim, who had been in politics over the past 51 years and a string of losses, should realise that he was part of DAP's "problems".

"Lim's 'strategies', if any, had failed him miserably. How to learn strategic lessons from him?

"Since Lim has failed to defeat BN in every general elections, maybe he should realise he is not part of the solution. He is part of the problem!" he said on his Twitter account today.

He was responding to a press release by Lim earlier today, where the latter criticised Rahman's role as BN strategic communications director.

Free tuition offer

Lim accused him of spreading lies about the opposition, and offered him "free tuition" on what is "strategic" and what was not.

In particular, Lim said Rahman should be ensuring that Malaysia is not viewed as a kleptocracy abroad over the 1MDB scandal, and ask Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to resign.

Lim also accused of Rahman of "shedding crocodile tears" by claiming that DAP's grassroots want the former to retire to make way for younger leaders.

"If I am such a political failure in DAP, then Rahman should be praying fervently that I will remain instead of wanting to see me retire.

"What hypocrisy, cant and utter bunkum from the BN strategic communications director!" he said.

In turn, Rahman rebutted: "I don't need a strategic lecture from Lim. If he was any good in dishing out strategies, he would have not lost 13 times general elections."

For the record, Lim and DAP had only participated in 11 general elections.
