The Malaysia delegation to the prestigious Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2023, held in Hong Kong on 5 – 8 December 2023 did the country proud securing two Winner Awards and two Merit Awards out of the multitude information technology categories contested among 16 economies.

Stan Singh, the Chief Judge of APICTA (Malaysia), shared his insights on this year's APICTA International event, often referred to as the "Oscars of the ICT Industry". He praised the impressive performance of Malaysian entries, emphasizing their success amid a rigorous and scrutinized judging process. Notably, participants from Malaysia faced stiff competition, contending with top talents from 16 other economies

“Next year it will be tougher, with the inclusion of Nepal and expressions of interest from South Korea and the Philippines. As the IT and business landscape continues to evolve, participants must be prepared for the dynamic changes awaiting them in Brunei in 2024. For all winners, our heartfelt congratulations, and for those who almost made it to the finishing line, don’t give up hope but try again as for some of you, it was a very close call to winning the competition.” Stan continues.

PIKOM Chairman Ong Chin Seong mentioned,”The APICTA International platform serves as a crucial avenue for participants to transcend borders, learn, collaborate, and achieve global recognition. PIKOM will continue to facilitate and promote talent and innovation from Malaysia as PIKOM is the representative for Malaysia in the APICTA committee.”

The call for participation to compete in APICTA is usually announced in June and it welcomes entry of all categories from school level to enterprises. The winners and merit award recipients from Malaysia that achieved success in Hong Kong this year are:
