PUCHONG, SELANGOR: The Malaysia Internet Exchange (MyIX) recently launched and concluded its highly anticipated network infrastructure training course at its headquarters in Puchong, Selangor.
This initiative, a cornerstone of MyIX’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, is aimed at equipping Malaysian talent with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the digital economy.
Out of hundreds of applicants, 25 participants were selected to participate in the ‘Explore the World of Network Infrastructure’ course for the first intake.
MyIX Treasurer Ong Cheok Seong (left in picture above) said that the training programme marked a significant milestone in the association’s ongoing efforts to train and develop Malaysia’s workforce.
“We are deeply committed to empowering Malaysians with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the digital age. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to hosting more sessions in the future to benefit more individuals,” said Ong.
In collaboration with Forward College, the training programme covers essential topics, including IP Network and Systems Operations, routing, BGP, RPKI, ROA, AS-SET, and peering. Participants gain hands-on experience with DNS, DNSSEC, traffic monitoring and analysis, NMS and DDoS prevention strategies.
The training programme, designed for recent graduates and professionals from local companies, aimed to equip individuals with the necessary skills to effectively manage and optimise network infrastructure, ensuring robust, secure and efficient internet connectivity.
Meanwhile, Forward College co-founder and CEO Howie Chang said that the overwhelming response from applications serve as indication of the programme’s importance and the demand for such education in Malaysia’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
“Working alongside MyIX allows us to contribute meaningfully to the development of Malaysia’s digital infrastructure talent,” he said. “This programme not only equips participants with theoretical knowledge but also practical skills that are immediately applicable in the workforce.”
