KUCHING, AUGUST 6, 2025 – In a heartfelt demonstration of corporate social responsibility and deep-rooted community commitment, Ben Lee Automobile Sdn Bhd made a noteworthy and timely contribution of RM13,000 to the CHKMUS - Maaedicare Charity Dialysis Centre under its 2025 initiative, The Giving Journey.

This significant partnership not only highlights the company’s dedication to supporting essential healthcare services but also reinforces its promise to improving the quality of life for patients who rely on dialysis for their survival.

The CHKMUS - Maaedicare Charity Dialysis Centre serves a vital role in the community by providing life-sustaining treatment to 229 individuals suffering from kidney failure in Kuching, many of whom face financial and emotional challenges alongside their health battles.

Recognising these adversities, Ben Lee Automobile stepped forward with a generous donation of RM10,000 for medical equipment, to enhance the centre’s capacity to deliver efficient and compassionate care to its patients.

Leading the Ben Lee Automobile Sdn Bhd delegation were its Chief Executive Officer, Lee Wai Yat accompanied by its Director, Kong Sin Lee, and Chairperson of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility project, Syasya binti Suradi.

During the visit, the team identified the need for better medicine storage facilities to ensure the efficacy and safety of vital medications administered during treatment. Ben Lee Automobile further committed an additional RM3,000 for the purchase of a specialised chiller, a key investment that will help maintain medicine quality and safeguard patients’ health.

Beyond the financial contribution, the team dedicated time to personally meet patients, delivering carefully prepared gifts and sharing encouraging messages sourced from their customers. This interaction brought warmth and hope to patients undergoing rigorous treatment, reaffirming that they are supported and valued by the wider community.

Anne Rajasaikaran, Chief Executive Officer of the Maaedicare Charitable Foundation which operates CHKMUS - Maaedicare Charity Dialysis Centre, expressed her profound appreciation for this generous support.

“Ben Lee Automobile’s contribution stands as an inspiration that empowers us to continue providing holistic care to our patients. Their generosity addresses both the practical necessities and the emotional wellbeing of those we serve, reflecting the compassionate spirit that drives our foundation’s mission.

“Strong corporate partnerships such as these are essential in broadening our reach and impact. When businesses choose to invest not only funds but also time and empathy into charitable causes, they cultivate greater awareness and foster a culture of care within the community.

“We eagerly anticipate building more collaborations like these to sustain and enhance healthcare services for those in need, and the Foundation warmly invites individuals and organisations that share our passion for supporting dialysis patients to partner with us,” she said, adding that those interested to contribute their time, resources, or expertise, can reach out to the Foundation at [email protected]

Reflecting on the significance of the visit and donation, Lee Wai Yat said through The Giving Journey, the automobile company aimed to make a meaningful difference by supporting both patients and the dedicated healthcare professionals at the CHKMUS - Maaedicare Charity Dialysis Centre.

“Good health is one of our most precious assets, and safeguarding it is a shared responsibility that requires collective action. We believe strongly that prevention is better than cure, and our partnership with the centre is a manifestation of this philosophy in action,” he added.

The Maaedicare Charitable Foundation and CHKMUS - Maaedicare Charity Dialysis Centre are deeply thankful for the ongoing support from Ben Lee Automobile Sdn Bhd and hope that this inspiring collaboration will encourage more organisations to join hands in strengthening healthcare access and improving the lives of vulnerable communities.
