KPJ Healthcare Berhad (“KPJ Healthcare” or “the Group”), successfully hosted the 2nd KPJ Eye Conference 2025 at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur for two days, bringing together more than 300 ophthalmologists and eye-care experts from private practice, academia and the government sector for two days of exchange practical insight in cataract and refractive surgery.

Officiated by Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr Lokman Saim, Chief Medical Director of KPJ Health, the conference was held in collaboration with the International Islamic University Malaysia (“IIUM”) and the Malaysian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (“MSCRS”), with KPJ Healthcare University (“KPJU”) as academic partner.
Centred on the theme “Cataract & Refractive Surgery: Sharpening Our Vision for the Future”, the programme featured 14 scientific sessions and 33 speakers including Assoc Prof (C) Dr Norzalina Bachik, Medical Director of KPJ Centre for Sight and Head of Specialty for Ophthalmology at KPJ Healthcare; Prof Dato’ Dr Khairidzan Mohd Kamal, President of MSCRS and Director of Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at IIUM; and Dr Helen Tan, Cataract and LASIK Surgeon at KPJ Centre for Sight. Discussions included developments in premium intraocular lenses (IOLs), advances in surgical techniques, AI-supported planning, presbyopia-correcting strategies and real-world outcomes.

To sustain this momentum, the 3rd KPJ Eye Conference will return on 21 and 22 November 2026, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to advancing cataract and refractive care.
