NetApp® (NASDAQ: NTAP), the Intelligent Data Infrastructure company, today announced the appointment of Moti Uttam as Country Manager for Malaysia, a move that underscores the company’s support for the nation’s digital transformation and AI innovation agenda. As Malaysia steps up on its plans to become an “AI Nation” by 2030, this leadership move strengthens NetApp’s role in enabling enterprises to modernise their data infrastructure and unleash the full benefits of AI.
Moti will oversee NetApp’s business and the team in Malaysia, strengthening customer and partner relationships, landing new businesses, expanding into key verticals, and driving growth across NetApp’s portfolio of data management and AI solutions.
“I am honoured to take on this mantle at such a pivotal moment for Malaysia. The nation’s bold ambitions are propelling us towards an AI-driven economy, and data is at the heart of that transformation. I look forward to collaborating closely with our customers, partners, and the broader ecosystem to help Malaysian enterprises build Intelligent Data Infrastructure, enabling them to fully harness the power of AI and drive innovation — securely, responsibly, and at scale,” said Moti.
Moti brings over 25 years of experience in leadership positions at global technology companies and has a proven track record of driving growth, spearheading market expansion, curating customer success and building high-performing teams at Hitachi Vantara and Dell EMC. Prior to joining NetApp, Moti served as the Chief Technology and Operations Officer of Tao Bin Malaysia, building a cloud-centric, AI and IoT-enabled robotic retail platform.
“Moti’s appointment comes at a time when Malaysia is rapidly advancing its digital economy and scaling national AI capabilities. His deep industry expertise, understanding of the Malaysia market and customer-centric focus will strengthen our role in supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda, especially as enterprises invest in intelligent data foundations to unlock new levels of innovation and productivity. Under his leadership, we will help more organisations realise the full value of data and AI in line with Malaysia’s national priorities,” said Angeline Lim, Senior Director for ASEAN at NetApp.
