COMMENT | GE15 can go three ways

COMMENT | There are three scenarios for the 15th general election on Nov 19, 2022.

Firstly, Umno and BN win GE15 and form the federal government. Although Umno and BN claim that they are the favourites to win GE15, I think the outcome is likely to be quite different.

Secondly, no coalition wins a majority and the country enters a very confused and chaotic situation post-Nov 19.

Thirdly, Pakatan Harapan wins the GE15 and Anwar Ibrahim becomes the 10th prime minister of Malaysia.

The third scenario would be the best for the country as of all PM candidates, only Anwar accepts the fact that Malaysia is a plural society, and the diversity of language, religion, and culture is an asset for the country, not a liability.

Anwar is the only prime ministerial candidate who can stop the decline of Malaysia from a great, world-class nation to a second-class, mediocre country, which then threatens to become a third-class failed state like Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

No other good choices

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had called GE15 the mother of all elections and will decide whether his party and BN leaders will be charged in court for corruption and sent to jail.

If Zahid becomes the prime minister, then former premier Najib Abdul Razak will walk out of Kajang Prison and there will be more scandals like 1MDB.

Muhyiddin is the person who led the Sheraton Move conspiracy, which in 22 months ended the hopes and aspirations of Malaysians to build a new country in five years and even become one of the best in the world.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, on the other hand, has brought shame to Islam in Malaysia. He is prepared to say the most ridiculous lies and untruths, like the DAP is communist.

Is Hadi seriously suggesting that the Penang state government run by DAP since 2008 was a communist government?

Meanwhile, Warisan has the right to name candidates and contest in Peninsular Malaysia, although I think most of the party’s contenders in the peninsula are likely to lose their deposits. Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal is not a prime ministerial candidate for Malaysia.

GE15 is an election to form the federal government in Putrajaya, not to form the Sabah state government in Kota Kinabalu.
