COMMENT | Today is the eve of voting in the 15th general election. Each of us, as voters, has the power to make change happen. Choose the right candidates in our respective voting constituencies and determined how the nation will be governed, moving forward.

Do we still want to have kleptocrats and self-serving individuals continue the destructive, corrosive culture of corruption and abuse of power and positions?

If allowed to continue, these will become even more entrenched and destroy the country further. Certainly not!

As such, we must look beyond the flags and logos, behind the sweet promises, and directly evaluate the individuals contesting.

Voters should look for the key personal qualities of integrity, honesty, responsibility, dedication to public service, reliability, and dependability.

We must make sure the right individuals are voted in and be among those who are fit and competent enough to govern.

We cannot continue to have the sword of Damocles hanging over our heads, which is reflected in the shame that so many have brought to our country through kleptocracy, abuses of authority, corruption, ineptness, “do-nothing”ness, and the worst track record in public governance, ever.

The power to choose and determine is in our individual hands, literally. So, choose and vote right.

May the Almighty save us and our Malaysia.
