“Welcome to Japan Fair” jointly organized with “Iwate Food Fair”

Bandar Utama, 26 December 2013 - Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) is organizing a “Welcome to Japan Fair” jointly with “Iwate Food Fair” at AEON Bandar Utama from 26 December 2013 – 1 January 2014.

Aimed at promoting Japan as the ultimate tourist destination, introducing Japanese culture and also promoting Japanese food from Iwate Prefecture at the “Iwate Food Fair”, the 7-day event offers visitors a host of fantastic Japan travel deals, Japanese performances and other fun-filled activities for everyone. Through this fair, JNTO hopes that there will be more Malaysians inspired to visit the beautiful Land of the Rising Sun.

There are various of exciting activities and events specially lined up such as the Japanese Drum Performance by Wadaiko Syo, Japanese Yosakoi Soran Dance, Ninja performance, Japanese cooking demonstrations of “Mochi”, “Kids Bento”, “Osechi”, origami workshop and kimono dress-up experience and more.

Besides that, there are also promotions namely the Doraemon Fridge Magnet Redemption for those who spend over RM20 in a single receipt at the Iwate Food Fair and a lucky draw to stand a chance to win a holiday trip to Japan.

The “Iwate Food Fair” will be introducing a diverse range of fresh and delectable food made in the Iwate prefecture, in hopes to drive more awareness for the Malaysian customers to get acquainted with Iwate products. Iwate Prefecture, the second largest prefecture in Japan after Hokkaido, is located on the north-east of Japan’s main island of Honshu. It is renowned for its high quality soil and favourable weather conditions that are suitable for agriculture, fishery and forestry.

There are endless attractions available in Iwate and some of the popular ones being The World Heritage Hiraizumi, the hot spring villages (Yuda, Ousyuku, Sukawa, Hachimantai and Tsunagi), seasonal attractions like Tenshochi (cherry blossoms), Geibikei Gorge (high bluffs above a 2km valley) and Aspite Line (corridor of snow). Certainly not to be missed are the scenic beach Jodogahama and a mystic pool Kappabuchi which are believed to contain mythical creatures in ancient times.

Japanese Drum Performance by Wadaiko Syo.  Mr.Nakanishi Takayuki a drum instructor of "Wadaiko Syo" Japanese drum group in KL. He is teaching the real Japanese drums earnestly to Japanese, Malaysian, and foreigners staying in Malaysia as volunteer.
