I refer to MGG Pillai's article 'Trouble-free MCA in big trouble' (Dec 21). Team A must go because it is about might and not right. In fact, it has never been about right.

The truth is there is no great big difference between Team A and Team B. Team B just seized on the Nanyang issue to further its goal of taking over MCA because Dr Ling Liong Sik broke his promise. The truth here is that the MCA has never been about the truth or right. It has always been about power.

So why do I think Team A should go? Why not stick to the known rather the unknown?

There has always been this unspoken bargain. On the surface, Ling traded Nanyang for Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Utar) which is reasonable. But here is the thing: What about the next time? Its likely Ling's ability to bargain with Mahathir is at its end. So its time to get someone else to do the bargaining.

Ling is running out of options for his next trade with his BN coalition.

Putting Team B in place does not fundamentally change the bargaining process but with someone new and perhaps with less debt owed to BN/Umno, Team B will be in a better position to bargain. A fresh deal is better than an old debt.

And we in the Chinese community can only choose the lesser of two evils.

As an MCA member, I certainly do not feel good about my party being reported and commented on in such negative ways. But you ( malaysiakini ) have maintained your principle of not reporting as facts those lies against Ling. I thank you for this.

However, I wish to call upon Team B of MCA to stop spreading unsubstantiated lies against the party president. If they have any proof, they should go to the police or the Anti-Corruption Agency, or expose it in parliament .

Team B only spreads rumours about Ling. Show us the misdeeds with legally acceptable facts and proof. Otherwise, they will never earn my respect or support.
