I refer to the Malaysiakini report PAS special meeting on Wednesday .

PAS is falling into the trap set by Umno in wanting to cooperate with them. In stirring up the ‘Malay unity’ thing they are trying to isolate PAS from it's Pakatan Rakyat partners.

And then destroy PAS once and for all as PAS is a direct threat to Umno. After all, both are vying for the Malay-Muslim vote.

We have been thinking that PAS was more a religious party and not a racial one as Islam does not take cognisance of race; the religion is meant for Malays, Chinese, Indians, Eurasians, Europeans etc.

However, in PAS, there are some people who are more Malay than Muslim and they lean towards race and not towards Islam itself.

These are the people who are undermining PAS unity which Tok Guru in all his wisdom is trying to hold together.

It is time for PAS to give an ultimatum to those who want to divide PAS by insisting it join Umno for the sake of ‘Malay unity’. Also an ultimatum to other troublemakers who do not toe the line and work for their own interests.

Leave PAS and join Umno even if it means PAS losing some seats here and there. PAS will win these seats back with the support of the rakyat who will respect them for their steady stand to go against corruption, misrule, as well as against the outright breach human rights.

The non-Muslims will definitely throw their support behind PAS if is not viewed as a threat to them or a violation of their rights.

They would respect Islam for its purity and honesty rather than for its intolerance, extremism and shadow play with its partners on ‘Malay unity’ and racism.
