I refer to the Malaysiakini report MCA's Yip quits as Perlis assemblyperson .

A true party member will know that today’s drama emerging from Perlis is not something Barisan Nasional or MCA needs at the moment.

This is a purely malicious move by Ong Tee Keat who knows that he has no chance at all of winning this Sunday’s MCA party elections.

The drama started a few weeks back when Tee Keat put forward Dr Por Cho Chor as the state executive member for Perlis replacing Yip Sun Onn.

The silly Tee Keat was convinced by Chua Soi Lek that Por would be the best choice for the post because Yip was not aligned to either Tee Keat or his rival Chua Soi Lek.

And in his haste and anger over the fact that Yip had refused to bow down and join his camp, Tee Keat ensured that Yip was to be sidelined when the appointments were done.

This is a common Tee Keat trite, vengeful and yet silly enough to be manipulated by the likes of Soi Lek.

Now, Yip almost resigned and MCA’s already terrible reputation was further knocked down. The only one smiling here is the cunning Soi Lek, who has will surely tell the prime minister that he had nothing to do with this fiasco.

There is however another track to this story.

The desperate Tee Keat is slowly but surely edging towards a Pakatan deal, and he knows that by forcing a by-election in Perlis, he is putting pressure on BN and the prime minister at a time when his main concern should be the economy.

In a way, Tee Keat is taking revenge on the PM whose decision not to attend the MCA AGM was a massive blow on Tee Keat’s already tattered reputation.

Question is: Would Pakatan be so silly to actually court this man? Anwar Ibrahim can’t be that stupid. Or can he?
