During the Bosnian war, Zoran Markovic’s house in Konjic had been occupied by the Malaysian contingent of UN soldiers.

The house was actually rented by the UN and Zoran had the contract which states that any damage to the house must be repaired so that the house is returned to him in the same state they had found it.

Once the war was over and just before they left, the Malaysian soldiers smashed all the furniture and looted the property.

His house has been left untouched for the last 15 years because he wants to use it as evidence in any legal process against perpetrators and because he does not have enough money to repair it.

During the last 15 years, he has made countless complaints to the institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, UN, Europe, the Malaysian government and many different organisations but without any success.

A few newspapers in Bosnia and Croatia ( Vecernji List, Arena, Jutarnji List ) ran the story and a TV programme about the case was shown on Croatian television.

We have a copy of the programme and a photocopy of one article from Vecernji List . Zoran also claims that he was laughed at by the UN personnel when he tried to complain and ask for the compensation.
