In reference to the Malaysiakini story ‘ 10-year-old caned over non-halal food in school ’.

This has nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with who is in power. Things started to change during the 70's when the government introduced certain policies to redistribute wealth from non-Malays to Malays.

These policies has resulted in Malays feeling they are entitled to financial benefit and worse, they think they have the right to treat non-Malays as second class citizens.

It is my opinion that this senior assistant was targeting this child and finally found a "reason" to satisfy his "need". Like most cowards, they hide behind religion. In Canada, caning is illegal and will be considered as child abuse.

I left Malaysia 30 years ago and I thank Canada everyday for providing me and my family a safe and free place to live our lives to the fullest. I just hope that one day there is no multi-culturalism, in that all races welcome one another’s differences and live as one race.
