In response to the article on Star today ' Higher Education, Health take steps to ensure medical grads are competent ', we believe that Health Ministry higher officials have been giving directives to hospitals around Malaysia to suppress students graduating from CSMU, Crimea (Ukraine) in order to prevent the re-recognition of the said university.

 

When CSMU graduates have a proven record around the world, why does the question of quality arise only from Malaysia?

 

Top officials from the Health Ministry have been on a spree of approving local medical colleges which lack facilities and quality. Over the last five years, the approval rate of the local medical schools have doubled.

 

We also like to highlight to Star that for the past several years, hundreds of Malaysians have been gaining entry into medical schools in Egypt with only SPM as an entry point. These students do not have a foundation (STPM, matriculation or A-Levels) and qualify for the Non Objection Certificate of the Higher Education Ministry, hence jeopardising quality.

What is the action taken by the Health Ministry to ensure the quality of graduates from medical schools in Egypt?
