I refer to Chua Soi Lek's dare to PKR to abolish Malay rights.

I'd like to pose Chua Soi Lek a few questions.

Just what exactly do you mean by privileges? Were you referring to the original and noble intent of our nation's founding fathers, where, amongst others, they had dreamed of a united nation and one that would provide for fair and equitable distribution of its resources amongst the rakyat?

Or were you referring to the "privileges" that make up Umno's private banquet, one that comprises of glamour dishes such as APs, never-ending concession contracts, privatisation deals?

Parties that are well attended by a bunch of merry men singing "Santa Claus is coming to town", whilst their name cards have the words, "I help you, you help me" imprinted on them?

In the first place, why were these "privileges" accorded? So that children of prime ministers can get listed amongst the richest in Malaysia, or so that a chief minister could built a multi - million ringgit mansion whilst flashing his dental whites without even a hint of a squirm?

Were the "privileges" framed so that a connected few could grab APs or blue chip shares, and become millionaires without hard work, sweat and tears like the rest of your average Ahmad, Ah Chong and Muthu?

Did these "privileges" become handy so that wheelers and dealers who were complicit in arranging for favorable judicial appointments could escape conviction?

Maybe these "privileges" have strategic usefulness, in that, they help to ensure that producers and purveyors of pornography can avoid being charged, whilst their actions make a mockery of existing laws regarding public display of smut.

Dr Chua, could you enlighten me if these "privileges" are meant to allow racist editors and NGOs to reign with impunity? Can racists freely tear photos of political leaders, or parade cow heads or remind Malaysians unceasingly of May 13, and get away with it?

Does having this "privilege" mean that I could go around town, with tax payers money, and dish out I help you, you help me ang pow to voters? That I need not be afraid of either MACC or the EC investigating me for abuse of power and for offering bribes to voters?

Forgive me for being simple in my thinking Chua, but I thought that these privileges were put in place so that we would have a more balanced distribution of the nation's resources.

If so, then how come Malaysia has the one of highest GINI in Asia, after 53 years of independence?

You also say that our hope should be based on political realities. Well, what are the political realities today, after all these years of Umno/BN governance?

We have more corruption, more abuse of power by those entrusted with protecting us, more fear of the future and of our safety, and more to pay as the purchasing power of our ringgit continues to shrink.

And actually, more have lost hope. Just hear what the World Bank had to say recently about why Malaysians migrate, and you'd realize that those who left our shores, have anything but hope for the political system of the day as run by Umno and its crumb - seeking gang. When the family of an innocent man who died two years ago still can't see the light of justice, then you know that any hope based on present day political realities, is but a sham.

So Dr Chua, give us better reasoning. Yours just don't jive - you get the point?

Matter of fact Chua, I've got a better suggestion for you. Why don't you and MCA pull away from Umno's grip, seeing that your marital partner abuses you, and labels you as an "aggrieved woman"? See if the votes don't come back to you.

Or is the MCA afraid of losing its "privileges"?

I sure hope MCA isn't singing "Tell Me How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", to Umno.
