Gory pictures wont lead to clashes
With regard to Jacob George's suggestion that the Home Ministry warns local newspapers about publishing gory pictures of the ongoing US-led strike on Iraq, I say there's no basis for him to assume that the publishing of these pictures which graphically demonstrate the true horrors of war will stir hatred and violence between Muslims and Christians in Malaysia.
Unless the vernacular papers actually portray this war and its victims as a "clash of civilisations" between
people of the two Abrahamic faiths, then the ministry should not intervene.
If the vernacular, mainstream and alternative media make it clear to their readers that this war is a US/Anglo imperialist aggression against Iraq for their own economic, political and geo-strategic interests, then it should not cause hatred between Muslims and Christians locally.
