I refer to Wednesday's analysis by Edmund Terence Gomez titled Decline of the Malaysian press . In the part about ownership pattern of the media in 2002, I'd like to draw your attention to item no 4 which states that The Sun , The Edge and Asia Inc are owned by Nexnews Bhd.

I'd like to highlight that Nexnews is currently awaiting approval from the relevant authorities o­n the proposed acquisition of Sun Media Corporation Sdn Bhd and The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd, publishers of The Sun and The Edge Malaysia respectively.

Asia Inc and The Edge Publishing Pte Ltd (publisher of The Edge Singapore) have recently signed an agreement to form a regional media company totally separate from Nexnews.

I'd appreciate it if you could take note of this inaccuracy and also inform the writer about it.
