All wars are barbaric and reflect a very crude level of consciousness. But the ongoing massacre of thousands of Iraqi civilians in their own homes is obscene and makes all the declared and undeclared intentions of the US-UK coalition less than noble.

Indeed, there is justification to describe the fundamentalist Christian White House as a regime far more evil than Saddam Hussein's old-fashioned military junta which owes its existence largely to the CIA.

It saddens me to see the UK being dragged into this loathsome political morass that has done the entire world nothing but further harm. Considering the level of media control and censorship in the US (especially since the 9/11 incident, which has yet to be independently investigated), America has absolutely no moral authority to abrogate to itself the role of global enforcer.

To 'liberate' Iraqis by pulverising them with cluster bombs and depleted uranium missiles is perhaps the sickest joke in the annals of human conflict.

I pray that decent people in the US and the UK will awaken to the catastrophic horrors their hypocritical and mercenary leaders have committed in their names - and move swiftly to remove the villains from power.
