I was interviewed by malaysiakini journalist Beh Lih Yih o­n the phone at about 11.30pm o­n Tuesday ( Rocky start for Keadilan-DAP seat negotiations ).

Please note that I did not use words such as "childish", "unprofessional" to describe Keadilan. What I did say was that "negotiation is a very serious matter, not child's play.

We need to be very professional and serious about it. We should not make assumptions before bringing it up to the table". I was referring to the talk that "difficult seats were given to Keadilan".

I also did not imply that Keadilan was weak o­n the issue of yardstick of 'win-ability'. All I said was "it was never easy to put a yardstick o­n the so-called 'win-ability'. But there are indicators o­n the strength and weakness of individual party in a particular area, such as how many activities (dinner, ceramah , gathering, etc.) each party has carried out in the past, and the degree of public support and response for such activities, the issues o­ne has taken up, the strength of membership and the leadership in the area, etc." This yardstick should be measured o­n both Keadilan and DAP, not just Keadilan.

I also did not "accuse" that Keadilan has postponed the second meeting at the last minute. We have accepted the postponement in good faith although we were not extremely happy with the last-minute postponement. But there was no real reason for us to accuse anybody in the negotiation team, let alone Keadilan.
