Power must come from the people, not incinerators
The people of Broga/Semenyih are getting mobilised day by day to stop the incinerator project.
Last Sunday's episode in Semenyih indicated that the politicians who came to brief the residents on the positive effects of the project simply did not have the decency or the guts to take questions from those gathered. In the end, confronted with questions and various queries, they just took off from the scene.
They were not prepared to answer the question simply because they have no answers but to parrot what should be said. It is clear that these politicians are being made use of certain powerful economic forces to push for the project despite the horrendous dangers posed to those living in the vicinity.
If the project is implemented, the entire Broga/Semenyih area will be turned into a huge rubbish dump and not to speak of the danger to the environment and to the lives of residents.
The incinerator project should be stopped. The power has to come from the thousands of residents in the area.
