A Hindu wish for Anwars freedom
It is somewhat ironic that Anwar Ibrahim's appeal against the sodomy conviction is being heard at the Court of Appeal at the same time as our Parliament in general, and our prime minister in particular, condemn US and Britain for side-stepping international law.
Does any one of us believe that Dr Mahathir Mohamad is being sincere, or are we just tolerating him until October? How hollow can a leader be?
Perhaps the three judges (who heard Anwar's application for bail) will pluck up enough courage and ensure that our beloved ex-deputy prime minister gets his freedom soon.
April 14 happened to be the day the Hindus in Malaysia celebrate their New Year, and I'd like to wish Anwar and his family, and all of us (decent Malaysians, regardless of creed) a happy beginning to a great future!
