I find the advertisement on the water dispute with Singapore embarrassing and insulting to my intelligence.

The advertisement - and the brief snippet of information - lacks substance to convince outsiders and patronises the intelligence of Malaysians in general. In addition, it reeks the mentality of entitlement - ie 'entitle to this, entitle to that', without real substance or merit.

I wonder if our government leaders believe that the world is naive enough to be convinced by propaganda. I wonder to myself if our government leaders are so twisted to believe that they can solve problems by holding onto brief facts without depth.

I wonder if our government leaders think they can hide their incompetence and deep problems by brainwashing the people. I wonder if our government leaders have a real grasp of what their problems are, and more importantly, how to go forward and get ahead.

I wonder if the water ads is just a reflection of our lack of meritocracy.
