What PAS must do to get non-Muslim votes
With due respect to A Hakem ('PAS does not intend to throw away constitution'), given the history of racial relations in this country, PAS has to no less than guarantee non-Muslim their rights and equality before they will ever be significantly trusted by non-Muslim. Intentions and what they have done in Kelantan and Terengganu means absolutely nothing.
If PAS was serious about non-Muslim votes, they need to, 1) guarantee the elimination of any discriminatory policies like the NEP/NDP 2) guarantees the rights and freedom to personal choices for non-Muslims spelled out clearly in the constitution - at least in the form of a similar anti-discrimination amendment.
If PAS is serious about non-Muslim votes, the need to speak in plain common language of non-Muslims and not Arabic and the Quran. If their Islamic state is compatible with the goals and aspiration of non-Muslims then it will be proven over time, whatever the label. Hence the guarantees of universal principles should not be an issue.
Anything else regarding intentions, appearance, style and their track record in Kelantan and Terengganu is just plain irrelevant.
