With due respect to Mr Abu Mubarak (' PAS has done well in Kelantan and Terengganu '), his facts and figures are misleading.

1) Under the BN government the poverty rate in Kelantan fell from 67.1 percent in 1976 to less than five percent in 1990. So poverty eradication is largely due to the BN government and cannot be attributed to PAS. At best, PAS can say is they do not stand in the way of poverty eradication.

2) On tourist arrivals, if a doubling of tourists is success, then Langkawi is a miracle because its arrival is 10 times more. Again, Kelantan is benefitting more from the national government's tourism promotion rather than anything else.

3) Migration is a fact as Kelantan has one of the highest birthrate in the country and yet its population is declining according to national census.

4) No one is accusing PAS of not being less corrupted than Umno but:

a) it does not mean that PAS is not susceptible to corruption and

b) it does not mean that PAS will not be more corrupted as time goes by.

For example, under the PAS government, timber resources have been heavily exploited until Kelantan is in danger of closing down all its sawmill without developing any meaningful manufacturing industry.

Something is wrong with the BN-controlled media but unfortunately PAS is also guilty of the same offences.
